Our psychologists work with children, adolescents, adults and older adults, to provide evidence-based interventions to address a variety of concerns including anxiety disorders, depression, coping with stress and adjustment, behaviour management, and more.
The psychologists at AMC Psychology are registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA), a branch of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). All our psychologists hold Bachelor, Honours and Masters level qualifications, and are members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
AMC Psychology currently works closely with a number of government and independent schools in the area.
Our Services
Intervention
At AMC Psychology, our psychologists provide individual therapy for all ages, utilising a variety of evidence-based practices.
Our psychologists also create and implement skills based group programs which have been tailored to meet the specific needs of children. These groups address identified difficulties in areas such as social skills, anxiety and worry, adjustment, and understanding and accepting family differences.
Assessments
We offer full psychological assessments that assess a wide range of presentations and can be administered to individuals aged from birth to 90 years.
A psychological assessment will provide a detailed analysis of an individual’s intelligence and cognitive function, behavioural difficulties, academic ability, adaptive functioning, attention and concentration, learning, and memory. We provide specialised assessment for individuals with hearing and/or language impairments, or who do not speak English. Further specialised assessments are also available for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Assessment packages include an initial intake interview, observation, psychological assessments, a comprehensive psychological report with results and recommendations, and an optional feedback session to discuss the assessment results.
Consultation & Training
AMC Psychology offers consultation services and workshops for parents and school staff.
Consultation and training services are frequently engaged by teachers and learning support staff in areas such as behaviour support, school readiness, and preventing burnout.
Consultations may be one-off sessions, or form part of an ongoing consultation model.
